About the Authors
Carrie Allison is currently studying English at Northwest Missouri State University, Maryville, Missosuri. She participated at the Writers Place Youth Symposium for three years, was a finalist in Hollins College Nancy Thorp Memorial Contest in 1996, received first place in the Community Arts Association Contest, and received Best High School Poetry in the Central Missouri State University contest in 1996. Her poems have appeared in New Wine. Upon graduating from Northwest Missouri State, she plans to earn an MFA in Creative Writing.

Stacey Starr is studying elementary education with concentrations in biological sciences and in Spanish at the University of Missouri-Columbia. Her poems have appeared in such literary magazines as New Wine and Thorny Locust. Her poem, "To Peter, From Wendy," won first place in the national Writing! Magazine contest.
