From Ink and Sandalwood

Book Description
In this collection--a walk through the life of a woman caught between American and Chinese cultures--Cecile M. Franking explores her roots and family, always a little displaced in America (where peers called her "chink" or tried to dig a hole to China).  She learns America's prejudices, but through finding a good home, family, and husband, she learns to bring together the yin and yang of life.

About the Author
Born in China of a Chinese father and an American mother, Cecile M. Franking was raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan, by her American grandparents. She majored in Chinese studies at the University of Michigan where she met her husband, Dr. William Q. Wu. Since 1954, they have made Prairie Village, Kansas, their home.
